When using a Visa or MasterCard at participating merchants, you will be offered Premier DCC, which gives you the choice of paying in your own currency, rather than the local currency.
By opting to pay in your own currency, your credit card receipt will show the exchange rate, the local currency amount, and your exact own currency amount at the point of sale. This eliminates all uncertainties about the cost of your purchases and Premier Best Rate means you will always get the best exchange rate or we refund you 150% of the difference!

The Premier Best Rate exchange rates are updated daily and are always extremely competitive with the rates offered by credit card issuers. Terms & conditions
The Premier Best Rate Currency Guarantee is a service offered to cardholders through participating merchants using the Premier DCC service in Austria, Colombia, Germany, France, Ireland, Italy, Mexico and the United Kingdom.
Upon agreement of the cardholder, Visa and MasterCard* payment transactions will be converted to the currency of the cardholder’s card account at the point of sale by the merchant using the Premier DCC exchange rate that is equivalent to, or better than, that offered by the cardholder’s card issuer. The exchange rates offered are updated daily on all POS devices, are competitive and similar or better than those offered by the card issuer. By choosing to accept the DCC exchange rate, the cardholder has the certainty of knowing the exact value of their transaction in their own currency at the point of sale.

In the unlikely event that a cardholder can show that they were financially affected by choosing to have their transaction converted at the point of sale using the Premier DCC exchange rate, Fintrax will, subject to these terms and conditions, refund to the cardholder 150% of the difference between the price calculated using the Premier DCC exchange rate used to convert their transaction and the price calculated using the rate of exchange offered by their issuing bank on the same day on the same credit card. Some credit card issuers may charge a fee for card usage overseas irrespective of the currency in which the card transactions are charged. Our currency guarantee does not cover such fees.
The cardholder can complete the claim form and submit hardcopy evidence of the Premier DCC transaction receipt and a credit card statement showing both the Premier DCC transaction and another transaction, on the same day and the same credit card, converted by the issuing bank using the issuing bank exchange rate. Claim forms and required paperwork must be submitted to Fintrax for review within 60 days of the card transaction date to which the claim relates.
Cardholder claims will be investigated within 10 days and once verified, the cardholder will receive a refund to their credit card for 150% of the difference between the transaction amount originally charged using the Premier DCC exchange rate and what the transaction amount would have been, if the transaction had been converted by the card issuer taking into account all fees and charges. Fintrax’s determination of the validity of a claim is final.
It is understood that any claim or dispute in connection with the Premier Best Rate currency guarantee service does not provide a cardholder with the right to initiate a chargeback in relation to a card transaction. Fintrax is not responsible for, nor shall it be bound by any statements or representations regarding the Premier Best Rate currency guarantee service made by any third party. The Terms and Conditions of the Premier Best Rate currency guarantee are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Ireland and any disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the Irish Courts.
The Premier Best Rate currency guarantee may be withdrawn at any time.
