1985: Founded in Galway, Ireland as Cashback Ltd., facilitating VAT refunds for international visitors to Ireland. First company to introduce the innovative Double Sale System that completely eliminates back office admin for merchants.
1993: First company to allow merchant to sell Tax–Off directly in store by taking a credit card guarantee on a new unique tax free voucher (for Sephora).
1994: First company to rollout an in-store cash refund desk, where immediate refunds paid in cash in store by multi-lingual customer service staff (for Marks and Spencer).
1995: First company to set up a downtown refund point that allows tourists to get their refund before they get to the airport, thus avoiding long airport queues.

1999: First DCC transaction on a payment’s terminal in Paris (for Christian Dior).

2002: Premier Tax Free was launched as the new worldwide brand and trademark and the group renamed to Fintrax. We opened offices in the Czech Republic, Singapore, Denmark, Portugal, Hungary, Morocco and Sweden.
2004: First company to setup a fully integrated solution for a department store that allows the printing of Tax Free forms at each cash till point (for Harvey Nichols).
2005: The Fintrax Research and Development team created the first- ever integrated EPOS Tax Free solution, which was quickly deployed to a luxury British department store.
2008: First company to setup an all-in-one system on a payments terminal rolled out in all of their European stores. Full Acquiring of all credit card transactions/DCC/Gift Card/printing of Tax free forms (for Ralph Lauren).
2009: Premier Tax Free won a Retail Systems Award for ‘Cards and Payments Solution of the Year’ for Premier Integrated, a year after it was deployed into another British department store.
2011: Recorded an increase in Tax Free shopping transactions by 150% in a luxury fashion retailer following the installation of Premier Automatic with DCC.
2011: First company to launch an automated/integrated/self-service Tax Free printing solution for department stores (for Printemps).
2013: Premier Tax Free merged with Tax Free Worldwide to create a substantially enhanced tax refund business. The combined business trades as Premier Tax Free, offering the most advanced tax refund process in the market.
